July 2007   EMI CLASSICS 4 CD 70th ANNIVERSARY EDITION

EMI 70th Anniversary 4 CD Set A surprise edition of remastered and previously unpublished performances by John Ogdon in a well organised 4 CD collection of orchestral and solo works.

CD 1 contains Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Fauré's Ballade in F# and the Litolff Scherzo.

CD 2 has Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto, the Symphonic Variations of Franck, Liszt's Hungarian Fantasia and the Busoni arrangement of his Rhapsodie Espagnole.

Three first Piano Concertos make up CD 3: those of Bartók, Glazunov and Ogdon himself.

The contents of CD 4 are all solo works by Liszt and Ogdon and are new to CD.
